Toy model try out - not so good

My ambition is to create sets of toy models, standing, sitting in a couple of ways, lying and so to fill up any scenes with. Now I've made a draft of Nikki sunbathing in a lounger, not so good result as you can see. But at least a first try though a lot need to be fixed. I'll keep working. So far I've used a quite good free software, but I'm thinking of trying the pro version which should bring better drafts, I guess. 7 days free trial is offered and I'll have a lot of time from Wednesday, until the rest of this week.
